Did you know that the Azores played a crucial role in introducing pineapples to Europe?
In the 16th century, Portuguese explorers first encountered pineapples. Pedro de Magalhães de Gândavo described its flavor as unrivaled by any fruit in Portugal. Fast forward to the mid-19th century. Pineapples were introduced to the Azores, initially as ornamental plants in wealthy households. José Bensaúde, the first pineapple cultivator in the Azores, began experimenting with growing pineapples in greenhouses and pots. With citrus crops affected by disease, farmers sought new export products. Pineapples filled this gap, with the first export occurring on November 12, 1864. Enthusiasm grew, and greenhouses were built across São Miguel, including Ponta Delgada, Fajã de Baixo, and Vila Franca do Campo. By 1874, Azorean pineapples gained recognition in English markets for their superior quality. In 1913, pineapples were exported to England, Germany, and Russia, with about 2 million pineapples producing revenue of 200,000 pounds. World Wars I and II severely impacted exports. Despite attempts to find new markets, the industry never fully recovered due to high production and export costs. Today, pineapple cultivation in the Azores remains a unique part of its agricultural heritage, though on a smaller scale than its heyday.

    “Early Christians” weren’t monotheistic. The first council of Nicaea created the bible, especially the new testament. They did this by gathering all available religious texts from all nearby cultures and from them, by picking and choosing, came up with the bible. Any theologian would accept this. The first council of Nicaea created the concept of monotheism in order to, in accordance with the state, control the populous and in so doing they discarded any and all references to magic mushrooms because they knew that if the people were to know that “god” could be met through the use of psychedelics, they couldn’t perpetuate the idea of a one, true god who only the church could communicate with or interpret the words of previous prophets. They wanted control. The more one reads about psychedelics and the shared experiences people on psychedelics have had, the more one understands that the concept of deities, angels and demons come from trips. This makes far more sense than the idea of god, angels and demons that the bible describes.

      @thatsmeinthepic 16 днів тому

      @@davehopkins6291 so I wasn’t aware if that obscure religion. The council certainly replaced every polytheistic religion of the time in that area with monotheism and the purpose was very clear.

      @@thatsmeinthepic you should look into it, it's actually the basis for most of Judaism and in my own personal opinion a derivative of a shivist cult. Hindu is the world's oldest religion after all. When a jew dies they sit "shiv", "I am become death" -Bhadava Gita. Look up the Hebrew word for library, and know that shiva was also the God of knowledge. Plus remember the beginning of the story of Moses? Placed in a basket and floated down the river right? Well idk how much of the purana's you've read but they were floating kids downriver like 3 times a week bro, it's crazy. Too many parallels to ignore.
